Mods won't load at all

Recommended Posts

I was trying to install the MechJeb and RasterPropMonitor mods onto my computer but nothing is showing up. I know the program is reading the "GameData" file because I initially included the wrong folder layout and the game indicated as such in the initial load.

I have since corrected the problem so that the error doesn't show up on initial load but nothing in the game appears to have changed. No MechJeb device is available in the VAB and none of the module interiors have been updated.

Is there something I need to do to activate the mods so that they operate? Am I doing something else wrong?

Just as an FYI I have a Mac and play the game through Steam.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS!

KSP: 1.2.2 Mac Yosemite OSX 10.10.4 Via Steam

Problem: Mods Won’t Load

Mods Installed:

MechJeb 2.6.0

RasterPropMonitor v.0.28.0

Reproduction Steps:

Saved Mods into GameData folder, started new “sandbox” game, went into VAB but was unable to locate Mechjeb module. Furthermore, once I sent the vessel to the launch pad to launch, upon entering IVA no updated interiors present.

Furthermore, my initial save of Mechjeb2_2 folder returned an error, the error was removed when I renamed the folder to Mechjeb2 (as instructed by the error page in KSP).

The files I downloaded were not zipped in any way nor did either have a "gamedata" file within the initial folders. Per the instructions (at least how I undertood them) I saved the entire "MechJeb2-2" folder in my own "gamadata" folder. That returned an error prompt when I opened the game indicating that MechJeb should be in a folder entitled "MechJeb2" - I modified the folder name as instructed and the next time it loaded without the prompt. However, once I started the game no MechJeb was available.

What? The files you linked are definitely zipped and without a Gamedata folder the game shouldn't have any parts because all of the vanilla assets are in there. So there's either something wrong with your system or your OS is hiding and unzipping stuff on its own. Maybe that thread will give you some clues:

Yeah, they were being unzipped automatically (now I feel like an idiot).

As for the resulting folders, the RPM mod did have a "GameData" folder, with a "JSI" folder inside. I saved the JSI folder in the Steam GameData folder as instructed. The game started up, I started a new sandbox game, built a vehicle, but the IVA was unchanged.

I'm sure it is something stupid that I am missing......aarrgggg
