Kerbal EVA pack upgrades, like the engines?

So technically, in the Squad directory in GameData, Kerbals are considered parts (found in GameData/Squad/Parts/Prebuilt), so, is it possible to put them in the tech tree as an upgrade to upgrade their packs? There could be one to upgrade thrust, another one to add more fuel to compensate, and finally one more thrust boost to carry the extra fuel. So basically, they get extra thrust first, then more fuel, which because of the weight, makes their thrust levels back to normal, but able to carry the extra fuel, and the final one to be able to carry the fuel better.

Just a simple question I want to ask really. It just crossed my mind when looking in the folders.

That's a good idea, but dunno if it is feasible. I've played around with the EVA light in my mod and they don't behave like other lights of the game. No idea if the same can be said about jetpack vs RCS/engine tho.

I believe I saw someone easily just edit a number to get a more powerful jetpack. Did not know those lights were different, though.

Changing the number for thrust and fuel amount should be easy, it's making them work with the upgrade system that, may, be harder. But I don't have any knowledge about this upgrade system, I just won't assume that EVA kerbal works like other parts.

Tbh, I don't really know if many do. I've only seen M.O.L.E do it by @Angel-125.
