Hi guys!

I have CKAN installed, along with a bunch of other mods. I recently told CKAN to update said mods to their latest version after 2 months of putting it off out of fear. 1 problem... my fear came true. I am running ksp 1.2.1, and now at least 3 mods: CTT,USI LS, and Deepfreeze continued, are all incompatible and require 1.2.2. :(:(:(:(. How do I get these, and all my other mods, back to their original versions so I can play my game, or am I forced now to get 1.2.2, which I haven't been getting due to not having the time to uninstall my entire game and reinstall it (using the game straight from the main website, not steam).

But do they work?  Pretty much every everything in 1.2.2 also works in 1.2.1 and the reverse.  There is a difference about a warning about incompatibility and actual incompatibility.

my space station was not loaded due to the USI LS stuff not appearing :(. Everything else seemed work from the editor ( I don't actually use CTT, but it was a dependency for another mod to work, the mod was not affected though)

I don't use CKAN so I couldn't tell you how to get your mods "back" to the older versions.  Updating to 1.2.2 shouldn't take that long, and all 1.2.1 mods that i have used run fine in 1.2.2 (1.2.2 was just bugfixes).

But the point is that the mods may well actually be compatible - it's just CKAN that thinks they aren't.

but KSP it self keeps saying that my space station was not loaded because parts from the USI LS mod were not found :(:(:(.

I also have slow internet so updates take a long time

I would need more info however.  Are you getting an error when KSP loads that it won't load the USI-LS mod or is it not there because CKAN didn't install it thinking it was incompatible.  I can't help without more detailed information.

Slow internet just means start the download before you go to bed.  Copy 1.2.2 over 1.2.1 and you are updated.

I get the error that my mods are not compatible whenever I open up KSP, CKAN says they are all installed to the mod's latest version (I have 1.2.2 as a compatible version on CKAN, but its been asking for updates long before I marked 1.2.2 as compatible. I needed it compatible for a new rover mod.), and when ever I open up my 1 save, it complains that my space station was not loaded because *long list of USI LS parts go here* was not found :(.

EDIT: since 1.2.2 is just a bug fix, is there a way to download a patch to upgrade 1.2.1 to 1.2.2, or do I have to install everything all over again?

Well then yea I guess KSP doesn't mind mods that are a  version behind but not if they are a greater version.  I assume it isn't giving you an option to load anyway?

So yea you can figure out how to roll back the mod in CKAN (I have no idea) or bite the bullet and download 1.2.2  Personally I'd do the latter, as Roverdude is constantly updating and bugfixing his mods (USI-LS being one) and it's worth it to get on the latest version.  Your save should be fine under 1.2.2, as again, it was just bug fixes.

Log files would be good.  However:

  • Check to make sure the mods are actually installed.  Don't trust CKAN - check the folders, to see if they are where they are supposed to be.
  • If they are, and things don't work, then go to Github and get the older versions of the mods, and downgrade.  Or upgrade KSP.

Yes, there was an update patch for going from v1.2.1 to v1.2.2 last time I logged into the KSP store (couple months ago)

I never use the patch but I haven't seen any salt about it on the forums so it should work just fine

I don't know, never used it

There should be directions on how to use it on the KSP website

all it says is that after downloading the game, you unzip it, drop it into a directory of your choice, and run the game :/. When I download it though, it opens up a small window for patching game, and needs to be put into a "valid KSP folder" :(.

maybe a mod/person from squad would know. what named should I @ to message any of the?

Then putting it in your KSP folder is what it is saying, no?

Seems quite obvious to me
