Kerbal airliner

Recommended Posts

Your challenge is to create an aircraft and try to get as far a distance as possible. But wait! there\'s more. You will also try to 'Carry passengers' using the structural fuselage.

Rules- Plane must be stock, one stage (no boosters), must stay in atmosphere, Must take off from runway (just no vertical rockets)

scoring- Scoring is simple. Distance over ground x Passengers carried (for one structural Fuselage = 1 Passenger)

extra points---

rockets only = 500

below 8,000 meters = 1000

successful landing = 1500

Good luck

Leader board---

I do feel the first two items on the \'extra points\' are a bit redundant. Using rockets only seems a slight bit selective, and doesn\'t really balance out the fact that rocket engines won\'t equal the efficiency of turbojets, and the \'above 10 000m\' is almost a must to maximise distance. It\'s not that hard to achieve.

That\'s the point off the rockets only, they are inefficient. It makes it slightly more difficult

If you look on Kurtjmac\'s video on youtube, I think he is the winner at the moment.

I highly doubt. I\'ve seen people go 1/4 the way around Kerbin with these parameters, whilst KurtJMac only really does space ventures.

Kurt flew to the north pole..., in atmo with a spaceplane.

Oh. Okay. I have seen that before, but...

I\'ll be trying to circumnavigate half of Kerbin then.

EDIT: Actually, I do have a craft that can fly forever. It\'s called \'The Magic Turbine\'.
