Is there an addon that requires you to save Kerbin from asteroid impact?

KSP gives plenty of asteroid re-direct contracts, but it's always optional. I wonder, is there a mod that tells you there's an asteroid heading towards Kerbin, and you need to deflect it, or else you get a huge fine, or get some buildings in KSC destroyed?

Sorry if this was asked before... Must have been... But I haven't been able to find any such addon.

That's what I was expecting when I heard about the ARM update, but I guess it would be kind of annoying if you had to interrupt your Jool transfers over and over to defend Kerbin from dinosaur killers. As far as I know, there is no such mod.

Yeah, the number of random asteroids with a periapsis below Kerbin's surface is higher than you think. I get them all the time - it's like one in 20 or so, if I were to blindly guesstimate. One time I even saw two at once.

If you wanted such a mod to be sensibly playable, you'd first have to edit the way that asteroids are spawned near Kerbin.
