Nuclear engine only to orbit ( and beyond )

this was quite hard as the engines produce so little thrust at sea level

I gopt to say this is pretty impressive in its own right, and I tip my hat towards you my good sir. But someone else has preformed such a task... And got to Duna and back...

i know, i still have 7.4km/s of dv once in orbit, i could go plenty of places with that, i just dont have time to make a nice video for that.

Woh. Gave this one a try and didn't quite make it. It was a fun experiment though, thanks for the challenge!

 

I even tried adding more rockets and it didn't work for some reason...

Nice one! I think I'll call it a ZSTO - Zillion Stages To Orbit

I've a feeling it's come up once or twice before. It is a tough task - at sea level the Nerv by itself doesn't even manage 0.25 TWR, so a spaceplane is the only way, but the engine's much thirstier than a jet. But you managed to pull it off.
