Vanilla Windows 8.1 unable to fully load

I just removed all the mods from my ksp download. I run it on a windows 8.1 laptop. I may have deinstalled something important, because, when I launch the game, it stops loading at half the loading bar. How can I fix it ? I downloaded the game from steam
