Kerbals has invented cloning? :O

I accidentally crashlanded bill, bob and jebediah on the mun, so i went and did a rescue mission.. i brought back bill and bob first.. or rather i tried to bring them back.. they ended up orbiting kerbin at around 10.000km

When i was gonna start my 2nd rescue mission, to save Jeb atleast, i noticed the kerbals on the rescueship was bill, jeb and bob! ???

I then checked at the mun and saw jeb waving by the crashed lander as the 1st 'rescueship' was orbiting past it.. Then i checked back to kerbin and bill, bob and jeb was in a ship at the startpad..

Can anyone explane this for me? ???

Crews are generated as needed when previous crews are unavailable, such as when dead or already assigned, and there is a random element to crew selection which does not always honour the dead/assigned flag.

So occasionally you will see duplicate crews.

the thing is, that this isnt occasionally... its everytime every damn time, every last resatrt of the game, every last time of making new spacecraft, ever last time after chrashing and killing them :S, and yes, i have the bought version

I think deleting the persistence file will reset the behavior, you\'ll lose all your craft in space though not the ones you have designed in the VAB or hangar.

I\'ve been seeing the Original Three turn up for roughly three-fifths of missions in 0.16, with both rather new and gently-used persistence files. Smells like a bug to me.

My guess is that the addition of the one-Kerbal crew option has screwed up the proper operation of the dead/assigned flags somehow. The frequency with which I use the 'Restart Flight' option (which always gives me the same crew as the last flight, even when that flight ended in a fatal fireball) may also very well have something to do with it.

You honestly expect a civilization that celebrates errors in rocketry to have a perfect system in place for their cloning technology? That\'s just silly.
