I need help!!! Aeroelastic flutter is haunting me!!!

Recommended Posts

Do you experience similar problems? I make the KSC Discovery (yes, that is my craft's name) a bit too top heavy and the flutter... I need to attach a crew cabin for a tourist contract and placing radiator panels just makes it flutter like hell that I can't control it even with SAS on. How do you get around if you were able to?

ADD MOAR STRUTS!!!

Typical kerbal jokes aside, go and unlock the struts. Then you can use auto-strut on all the critical parts(in the editor, just right-click a part and select the auto-strut option). If you cant see this auto-strut, go back to main menu, then settings, then enable the "advanced tweakable" option

Remember, physical/visible struts add lots of drag(bad for planes), but auto-strut doesn't add drag

* to the spaceplane squad: Auto's dont add any drag, right?

right. No drag, no mass, no cost.

So your ship is being noodly? Blaarkies is correct, if so. Stiffening it up with some struts or autostruts will help a lot.
