tater
It's fine. Check weather radar. They need time to load Falcon up with props, and that cannot start until the storm is 10nm away. It's already offshore, just slowly moving NE.

The video from the droneship made it look like it was coming in at an angle, but I think it was a trick of the fisheye lens.
Brotoro
I liked the chunk of ice that fell off at restart of the second stage... with the chunk breaking apart when it hit the rim of the nozzle, and then vaporizing in the exhaust. I wonder if they rented a few more tugs to pull the barge faster and outrun the hurricane. It is supposed to be heading far north, but they pretty much need every booster they have. Green Baron
3 hours ago, Xd the great said: Did they land next to a hurricane? Well, the hurricane was ~1200NM away and a ridge of high pressure in between. They didn't sense much if any of it during the barge landing. They said they where 655miles out. I never know if they mean nautical or statute miles. Let's assume the first. If they tug the barge with let's say 8 knots (i have no idea i must admit but that may be fast for towing) it is reasonable to say they'll be safe in 80h, that'll be the time when Florence makes landfall in the north. So no immediate danger, maybe some swell from afar. If those 655 where indeed land miles then they are in no immediate danger from the storm, i'd expect. if if if :-) Edited September 10, 2018 by Green Baron

They clip the rocket to the pad. Using giant clips, of course.

Ultimate Steve
If the booster of any rocket explodes and the abort system is fired, then it will not accomplish its mission.
