KSP Crashes with mods? (After Error Message and loading Bar finishes)

Recommended Posts

This is my first time playing this game. I loaded it up, changed the graphics settings, then exited it out. I then proceeded to place Updated said mods to my GameData folder (Like I'm supposed to). After I finished extracting all the mods that I needed, I loaded the game up from steam. Once it starts from the loading screen I get an error message about TAC not being installed properly (Even though I have it located in the GameData Folder). The loading bar finishes, then it crashes back to the desktop. Here is my crash log:

Hello, @memyselfandI, and welcome aboard!

I've taken the liberty of putting your error log in a spoiler. In the future, please upload the log to a third-party site, such as Dropbox, and link the download here. The forums cannot handle a lot of large text posts.

I hope you get help soon!

output.log.txt?

Mod list?

GameData layout?

You have tried the standard binary search of installed mods to locate the culprit, yes?

TAC complaining suggests something not right with the directories under GameData, that message is there for a reason...

Looking at your error log, you aren't running x64 bit. Running mods on x32 will easily crash your game.

Its working correctly right now (But a bit buggy). I don't know what I did besides moving some of the mods in and out of the gamedata folder. Maybe it was mods conflicting?

Probably not mods conflicting. You probably removed enough mods to allow the game to run on x32. Running x64 lets you run as many mods as you want, granted you have enough ram.

So wait. I can put as many mods in there, and it wouldn't crash or cause an infinite black screen?

The black infinite loading screen happens typically when something is installed incorrectly or you are missing dependencies.

So, I'm assuming this is common.

Well, a lot of people install mods incorrectly and forget dependencies, so yes, very common. You just have to pay very close attention to install instructions or use CKAN

I'll need a screenshot of the planet. And I'll need a screenshot of your gamedata folder.

  • 2 weeks later...

Now ascent guidance and other mechjeb options are disappearing. They are supposed to be unlocked (Due to having Mechjeb imbedded installed. For easier access). I was using it awhile ago, then all of the sudden those same options are not available?!
