Jumping rockets

If I place my rocket on the launch pad, it first jumps up a few meters? 
When it comes down, often an engine is destroyed.

This might be due to a known bug that gravity easing is supposed to fix for most craft. However, it's not entirely foolproof, so some rockets may need launch clamps to stay put.

Just on the off-chance, do you have "Ease In Gravity" enabled in your game settings?

Yes, "Ease in Gravity" is enabled.

Just want to check, do you have anything clipped into the launch pad when it firsts load? On the runway at least, if an open cargo bay is the lowest part, it will also jump and often damage the craft.
