sal_vager
Hi rebelling274, all you need to do is select the strut component, click on your rocket to fit the first end, then click somewhere else to fit the other end, there needs to be a clear line of sight between the two ends though
rebeling274
I want to attach it to a part that is not on the rocket.
sal_vager
Unfortunately that is not possible, you can only attach parts to other parts that ultimately are connected to the command pod, it is a limitation of how KSP handles craft design.
rebeling274
Strange, because in video, it seems like that it wasen't connected to the main rocket.
sal_vager
Oh, that, well that was a bug you see, struts would often remain after stages were jettisoned, also, when persistence was first added, struts would reappear sticking out in random directions when the game was reloaded This bug has been fixed for a while now, it was novel and harmless but some players thought it was annoying.
