Is there any mod to remotely trigger staging/action groups?

I know there was a mod, originally an addition to a space shuttle mod from the same author. Can't find it or really anything else that works in 1.3.

Basically, I want a mod where I can set it up so pressing '1' on my craft triggers another crafts staging/action group, '2' triggers another one, etc.

What for?

Kind of makes sense if you're in physics range but in that case switching vessels with the '[' or ']' key is probably going to be just at fast and less annoying when action groups end up out of sync.

Out of physics range... honestly cannot think of a scenario where this would be useful.

@MR L A haven't had a look at smart parts in a long time and don't know their current scope, but in a nutshell, they were like a poor guy's flight computer: on (condition) toggle (action group).

They do come in handy at times and you don't have to learn much of a programming syntax before you can use them.

I wasn't asking about smart parts. I was asking about OPs question relating to remote triggering of action groups.
