Bohemia Interactive

http://forums.bistudio.com/misc.php?do=vsarules

§18) No public discussion on how the forum is moderated

If you have questions/complaints/comments about the forum or moderators please PM them to a moderator, we will do our utmost to reply to any that we receive. If you have an issue that you feel cannot be solved by another moderator then please PM the head moderator (Placebo), he will be happy to look into the matter. You may also ask your questions in the "Ask a mod" thread; however that thread is not to be used to attack/rant against specific moderators or about specific rules but more for questions/answers.

§19) Posting addon/mod other content without permission

For many years this community has been known as the premium addon/mod creating community, people work tirelessly and in great detail to create fantastic addons/mods/missions/campaigns to release for free so that everyone benefits, including Bohemia Interactive. There are a few simple rules in place to provide the respect to these creative people/groups that they deserve:

The first and most fundamental rule is that you must seek permission to alter someone's work, to mirror it or use it in any way other than for personal use. No permission, no editing, no mirroring, no adding to your mod pack, no editing and sharing around your private squad, none of that is acceptable.

Obviously we cannot unfortunately control what people do outside of these forums, however on these forums you must follow this rule, if a person/team post a thread to share an addon/mod using content from someone else without permission and we receive a complaint then the mod thread will be closed until the issue is resolved and the forum member(s) risks being permanently banned from these forums for taking someone's work without permission.

This isn't just limited to re-using content in addons/mods/missions however, it's not acceptable to edit someone's work without permission and then to post screenshots of it on the forums (even if the edited addon/mod is purely for personal use), it's also not acceptable to edit someone's work, or use someone's work in any way that you don't have permission for and then to create videos which you post on these forums, doing any of the above without the permission of the original creators risks a permanent ban, for individuals, for whole mod teams or squads.

Bioware Community Forums

http://social.bioware.com/page/site-rules

  1. BioWare staff, Electronic Arts staff, official Moderators, or appointed agents reserve the right to edit or delete any content found on these sites and ban any offenders to the site rules without warning. By using this site you are accepting the Site Rules and agree to follow these rules.
  2. There is a zero tolerance policy on any form of abuse towards staff, moderators or other Community members. Content that is insulting to anyone based on gender, lifestyle, religion, ethic group, race etc. is unacceptable and will be deleted without warning. Anyone posting a personal attack on staff, moderators or other Community members will, at the sole discretion of staff or moderators, be banned from the BioWare Social Network without notice and is no longer welcomed.
  3. Using these forums is a privilege, not a right. While we continue to value all of our customers and fans, participation in the BSN and engaging with staff and like-minded community members is - to be abundantly clear – a privilege, and not a right. Members may continue to discuss and critique our games and products in a civil manner, but any form of discussion targeted at an individual will not be tolerated. New and existing members who cannot adhere to the code of conduct, or maintain a civil demeanor at all times, are encouraged instead to contact customer support for any game related issues they may have.

More to come, since people think we're being unreasonable. In short, there is no revolution.

Also please see this, as posted by Harv,

What Skunky said ^^

It's stupid that we even have to say this, as it should be implicit, but let me make it as clear as I can:

The forum rules are NOT to be questioned.

The authority of the moderation team is also NOT to be questioned.

We reserve the right to change the forum rules at any time.

None of the modders are doing anything we here haven't ok'ed or even ordered them to do in the first place.

So, acting out against the moderators is quite simply stupid and no one should do it. On almost every case, they're only enforcing decisions made by us, and giving them a hard time about it is not only useless, it's also a very quick way to get yourself in trouble.

I hope I made this clear.

Cheers

Orbiter Forums

6. Editorial & staff inquiry policies.

Threads may be closed and posts may be removed at any time for review by the staff. If, after review, the posts are found by us to be acceptable, then we will restore them. If your post is deemed inappropriate, then it will be edited or deleted, and you will be notified as such. Threads may be re-opened after the staff have resolved the issue. The administrators & moderators ultimately have the final say on content they decide should be cut or threads which should be closed.

Any questions or concerns about staff actions such as why a thread was closed, posts removed, or infractions and bans given, should be raised in private with a moderator or administrator. If a member wishes to challenge a moderator's action, this challenge must be raised in private with an administrator, not in the public forums! We are more than happy to listen to objections or suggestions raised in private, as long as they're presented in a civilized and reasonable manner. Out of respect for our members' privacy, we do not share information about a warning, infraction or ban with anyone besides the member who incurred it.
