Spacecraft Spinning Uncontrollably

Recommended Posts

Sometimes, when I am in a suborbital flight over Kerbin, between 90,000m and 110,000m altitudes, the craft starts to rotate faster and faster in no particular direction.

I have only seen this when using the Mk1 Command Pod.

I suspect it starts to happens when I toggle between the map view and the spacecraft view at this altitude.

I will try to find out more about what causes it...

Anyway, thank you for bringing this brilliant game back to Xbox one :)

EDIT: This is not a bug, this is me unknowingly pressing LB and moving LS, setting a trim.

I keep setting the trim as well. Had the same issue until I discovered what the pink markers in the manoeuvre indicators were showing.

just imagine how useful trim would be if there was a way to set it, but only when you wanted to, and only the amount you wanted to set it to...

Catfacezero: Im not sure from my head. But if you check the controls (from the panel on the right), there is a "reset trim" option with propper button combination.

Personally Im really surprised that experienced console port developer created controls like they are. Basically random unintuitive combinations. Usually from buttons that you use to control the game anyway. So it is very easy to set something by mistake (for new players big problem when they set trim or lock staging before they even know there is such function". Or when you are in time warp mode and l1 slow time + is used for camera movememnt at the same time. This is not a bug, just poor design.

And honestly most of these functions (lock staging, reset trim, acrivate RCS, swithc vessels...) could be done via one nice, intuitive, easy to understand radial menu mapped to one dedicated button. I just have no idea why it was not done this way.
