Satellites and subassemblies

Greetings again KSP forumers! Today you will learn on how to make subassemblies and satellites. Also if you follow and leave a comment on something you need help with, I’ll make a tutorial on it. So let’s start

Subassemblies

  1. First build the rocket we made last time but instead of adding a capsule add a 1.25 farring and build it up a bit
  2. Then when it’s complete, click on the arrow at the very top left of the screen ( if you hover over it, it will say advance)
  3. When it’s up there will be new buttons next to your parts
  4. Click the button with the rocket (if you hover over it, it should say Subassemblies)
  5. move the entire rocket into the little box on the bottom
  6. a little screen will appear with name your Subassembly
  7. name and click save.

Satellites

Making an unmanned satellite or probe is easy yet frustrating if you don’t know how to. Here is a mini tutorial and trick to make a cool satellite.

matrials

1. Probodobodyne HECS

2. RA-15 Relay Antennae

3. SP-L Photovoltaic Panels

construction

1. Take the Probodobodyne and place it in the middle of the VAB

2. Next add the RA-15 Relay Antennae to the top

3. Turn symmetry to 4 and place the SP-L Photovoltaic panels on the side of the HECS

4.  Go to subassemblies and click our rocket.

5. Drag the rocket under the satellite and launch into orbit

tips

Because we used solar panels, we will need to extend them. When you are in orbit, and the satellite is free, right click the solar panels and a box will appear saying “ extend” or something. Click it and the panels should unfold.

When using subassemblies, decoplers will NOT connect to other things so add a decopler on the satellite not the rocket.

Thanks for reading this weeks KSP forum. See younext week!
