Screenshots

Have my screenshot button set to F1. Thought it was working, there is 1 picture in the screenshot folder. Finally managed to hit the moon (167m/s yeah, I ran out of fuel) and was taking screenshots only to discover I didn't take any.

Is there something I've not setup properly?

i think it could be that you need to refresh your screenshots folder(f5)

or you could have pressed the wrong button

Are you using a laptop? If so, some of them require a modifier key, normally labelled 'Fn', to allow the Function keys to be used.

I've actually had the same issue several times: the screenshots aren't saved, unless I go to their folder and press F5.

Doesn't happen every time, though, so I'm not really sure what's wrong here.

No, they're saved... the folder just doesn't update to show that they've saved until you hit F5.

Hmm, strange, I really do mean that after taking a couple of screenshots, even pressing F5 doesn't show them. However, all screens taken from this point will then be saved without problem.

Desktop, tried F5 and still no screenshots.

If the game is installed in any Windows manged folders (Program Files, Desktop, Documents, My Games, etc) it won't have permission to write files. Instead, it will save them to something like C:\Users\{name}\AppData\KSP\Screenshots.

Someone may need to correct me on that exact path, but it's where program saved data defaults to if the application lacks the proper file permissions.

This is one of the reasons we recommend installing the game somewhere like C:\Games\.

I have the game in a sub-folder in My Documents. Screenshots are saved in the KSP\Screenshots folder.

I tried to reproduce my problem with screenshots, and I couldn't. Only while at the main menu or space center am I unable to save them, while last time it didn't work was from the Tracking Station.
