Space Agency Tycoonâ„¢?

I just found out about this thing. Not sure how I didn't know about it sooner. So far I've only played the "demo". I hear there's munwalking and landing struts in the paid version? That would be nice, considering my first mun result:

But ultimately it's not so important, so I think I'll stick to free for a while. Apart from new parts and fancy features the main thing I'm looking forward to is the tycoon aspect of the game that is basically non-existent right now. It really needs economy management, space port building and all that. I think that more than anything will provide replay value. Like some sort of evil genius in spess.

I also know they are working on more planets? I think first they should make the existing ones more interesting. It's great to (fail at) landing on the mun, but once you're there there's nothing to do. And the main planet is basically just green grass and water. Nothing very interesting at all. :(

Not to flame you or anything, but the game's still in alpha, bro. I thought that after minecraft blew up like it did people would have grown accustomed to paying for unfinished games and have learned to enjoy being a part of a game's development, watching it grow. This game is so awesome without all the planned features already. It is well-worth the $18 bucks, trust me. Or any of the hundreds if not thousands of people who have.

I apologize for the harsh tone of my post, but these developers really work hard at this game and we get steady updates and info on a regular basis. It really is an amazing game.

Well without the tycoon bit then you're basically orbiter lite. It's having actual game mechanics and building a space empire that interests me. Not just flying.

I'm fine with the fact that a lot of advanced features are going to be far off. These things take time and there's lots to do. But if it's never going to come then that is basically a reason for me not to buy.

Between the available mods and plugins, and the persistence that you get with the paid version, you can already do an evil-genius-in-space sort of thing. There are lots of us that have whole satellite networks and moon mining operations and space refueling dumps set up.

You sound like you're already planning on buying the game eventually. Why not buy now, and enjoy all the community building (and game building) that happens between now and full release? ;)

Well I'm a bit pragmatic about it. Once the paid version implements something really cool that you can't get in the free one or just generally reaches a level above and beyond then there will be money thrown at the screen. Until then I'll wait it out.

Now that you mention minecraft that is probably the reason I choose to go this way about it. I bought MC early on in alpha, seeing how awesome it was and how much there could be done with it. But today I almost regret that, because 1.0 is not appreciably different from alpha in any meaningful way.

Guest butt head

you can make landing gear in the demo by putting the radial decupler on as low as you can and then the white wiglets on them as low as you can also try using the asas in stead of the sas the asas keeps you pointed in the direction you were in when turned it on and the sas trys to keep you from turning but not pointed any any particular direction good landing though i doesnt look like any parts of your ship blew up so better than most landing and the full version is .16 with .17 well on the way with ivas and new planets its a great buy BUY IT its 18$ now and the price will be rising it was 15$ during .15 i think its going to be 30$ when its all done if you do get the full version then you will get 2 different landing gear things and a new moon to go to minmus its much smaller and farther away and in a slightly elliptical orbit and then there the planes and the evas(moon walks)

Yes, its definately worth buying. I spent $35 on a carton of beer last weekend and now I have a stack of empty cans, but for half that price I bought KSP a month ago and it's still here.

As a bonus, KSP doesnt give me hangovers. :)

Hello BmB yes this game is very fun to play with.

Like all others above I totally agree that buying the game at this moment is a very smart choice because you get it for a very low amount of money and get access to all build that are finished after the demo (currently 0.16).

You have a very good point that you only would buy it if the game gets such special features that it is way better than the demo.

I can tell you that there are a lot of features that can do that, but typing them here doesn't really help.

I think that these video's of Kurtjmac (he makes great vids! :D) can give you the impression of most of these awesome features.

Features like persistence (best thing ever!), EVA's, balanced rocket parts, landing legs, clamps to hold your rocket stable at the launch pad, Minimus, plugins made by modders (also one of the best, it allows completely new game components been written by modders), improved particle system (no more lag because every part explodes, explosions close to each other are merged into one big explosion), space planes (build in the Space Plane Hangar, launched horizontally), fuel lines (improved with every updated), path conics system to predict a landing/crash at a planet, and many more awesome stuff.

Check these video's and smile. :)
