Finally got the full game!

Have been playing the demo endlessly and have now finally got the full programme. Any tips for a noob looking to touch the stars (Or at least get into orbit!)?

Check out the MechJeb plugin. Watching it put a rocket in orbit can be very helpful in learning how to do it by hand.

Welcome aboard!

If you want to achieve orbit, your best bet is 2-3 tanks with a powerful engine below, and a few SRBs on the sides. Start leaning eastward after reaching a 10km altitude and try to get above 70 km.

One of the biggest problems to new people is Overengineering. Try to keep your rockets simple, but not too simple. Oh, and the optimal time and angle of tilting Varies from rocket to rocket. So, in simple, don't make your rockets TOO big, and tilt east once you begin to reach the thinner atmosphere.

Thanks for all the advice and the hellos. It's great to have a community so welcoming for a change! Got Mechjeb thanks and almost got a ship into orbit which was awesome! As for over engineering.....may have been guilty of that. Possibly. It's like making a pizza, "Oh go on I'll just stick another bit here and a bit more there." and before you know it the whole thing is collapsing under it's own weight.
