Stock fuel tank nodes - attachment node error?

Recommended Posts

Using the Linux v1.5.1 version, downloaded firect from the Squad site.

I am seeing odd gaps associated with the FL-T200, the FL-T400, and the FL-T800 fuel tanks. They stack and function normally, but there is a gap at top and bottom.

The FL-T100 does not show this gap.

I did some comparison of the FL-T200 with the v1.4.4 install I still have active. There's a 10:1 difference in scale factor

v1.4.4 version.

    scale = 0.1
    node_stack_top = 0.0, 4.442, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0
    node_stack_bottom = 0.0, -4.442, 0.0, 0.0, -1.0, 0.0

v1.5.1 version

    rescaleFactor = 1.0

    node_stack_top = 0.0, 0.55525, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0, 0.0
    node_stack_bottom = 0.0, -0.55525, 0.0, 0.0, -1.0, 0.0

Has anyone else seen this effect? Are the numbers the same for a non-Linux version? (I copied those numbers from the .cfg file in the distribution archive files, it's the same as what is in the file I am using, the numbers didn't change between v1.5.0 and v1.5.1)

I have been doing a little trial-and error testing, and reducing the number for the vertical displacement does affect the size of the error. I am minded to use the v1.4.4 numbers, reduced to match the scale change (though I do wonder what difference  5/100 of a millimetre makes).

(OK, I did try that, and the rescaled v1.4.4 numbers do work)
