First and foremost, they give the players something to do while not costing much in developer resources. We all want to land on these things, explore them, build "Mun Arch" research bases, etc... No.2 is that it might also be a precursor to more involved and complex landmarks in the future. Maybe we will have not only Mun Arches, but caves or volcanoes, or rocky outcroppings.That being said, I do believe the Monoliths to be "true" easter eggs. They are harder to find, don't really fit the landscape or mood of the game, and are a reference to something outside the game itself. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
