Make window go away

How do I get rid of it without restarting?

When do you click on "ok"? As fast as possible when the window pops up or do you wait a little bit or even until you're in the main menu?

AFAIK, there is no other way to close the windows except for clicking on "ok" but since you got at least these 5 mods which uses the same compatibility checker, there might be some kind of "hiccup" and you try to close the window while one of them is not ready for it.

Also, I would suggest to update MechJeb and Procedural Parts. Procedural Parts is actually available for 1.7.x and MechJeb shouldn't complain about the version because of something, that looks like a bugged implementation of the compatibility checker to me :D
There are also two more versions of Kerbal Joint Reinforcement available, which are both compatible with KSP 1.7.x (KJR  continued and KJR next, the latter one is even compatible with the robotic parts of breaking grounds and works pretty well in general)

This would at least shrink the list of complaining mods down to two and probably already solves your issue :)

As far as the game loading, sometimes i leave while the game loads so I don't get to it until I am in the main menu.  When I try to click on "ok" nothing happens...not even the button changing appearance as its being clicked.  I can't move the window either.

Ok, found Kerbal Joint Reinforcement Next.  I can't find any Procedural Parts newer than what I have (1.2.12), same with Extraplanetary Launchpads (6.5.1).  I hope what I found yesterday is a replacement for Precise Maneuver 2.4.2, which I REALLY like.  MechJeb2 doesn't even list in the Mods window, so idk what is going on there.

So now my list is down to 4.

That's the original mod by Starwaster but there is a second branch by Tidal Stream:

Yep, EPL (or ELP?) and Precise Maneuver are not updated yet. I know that there is going to be an update for Precise maneuver somewhere in the future, EPL may take a while.

The mod list provides by AVC or which mod window are you talking about? MechJeb doesn't provide a .version file so AVC doesn't know anything about it.
The latest version of MechJeb (2.8.3) doesn't complain about incompatibility, tried it on my own and even posted the reason for it in the MechJeb thread.

If the issue persists, a log file might be useful. Wait until the window becomes "stuck" the next time, then grab the log file and upload it to a file hoster/cloud service and share a download link. If you don't know where the log file is located, take a look at this thread, it contains the log file locations for each operating system:

Bear in mind that the log file location changed after 1.3.1 for windows systems so if you updated the game without a clean reinstall since 1.3.1, you'll probably find an old log in the old position. If you're running windows, you need to look here:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Squad\Kerbal Space Program\

Here is my log.  I let the game start up and once everything was loaded the window was locked in place again.

There are a couple of exceptions right at the beginning, related to Ground Construction and Contract Configurator. The easier issue first: You installed a contract pack (station science) but not contract configurator. This probably doesn't cause your issue but it's something you may want to fix ;)

The issue with Ground Construction is a bit more tricky. First of all, I found a "UnityEngine.dll" and "UnityEngine.UI.dll" in a place where it shouldn't be (AT_Utils). Did a little research and it looks like, the AT_Utils version which is bundled with Ground Construction is shipped with these .dlls but not the "stand alone" version. Basically, you now run two instances of UnityEngine which can cause some serious issues, maybe even the locked window.

I would suggest to delete the "000_AT_Utils" and replace it with the stand alone version from github: https://github.com/allista/AT_Utils/releases/tag/v1.8.0
You probably need to update Ground Construction as well, just don't install the bundled AT_Utils. (The installed version of AT_Utils is 1.7.0.0 and I guess you installed it together with the previous version of Ground Construction).

I've also noticed, that the compatibility checker now also lists kopernicus as incompatible mod:

[CompatibilityChecker] Incompatible mods detected: Kopernicus, Launchpad, MechJeb2, PreciseManeuver

And indeed, something seems wrong here:

Kopernicus.Components v1.0.0.0
Kopernicus.OnDemand v1.0.0.0
Kopernicus.Parser v1.0.0.0
Kopernicus v1.0.0.0

Since 1.7.1, kopernicus no longer contains 4 different .dll files, just "Kopernicus" and "Kopernicus.Parser" so you installed the wrong version or you tried to update kopernicus by overwriting the old version, which left the old files untouched. Uninstall it completely and r einstall the latest version: https://github.com/Kopernicus/Kopernicus/releases/tag/release-1.7.1-5

No idea why MechJeb is still listed as incompatible though, like I said earlier, it doesn't happen to me...

There are some more exceptions, especially for USI but at this point, it's hard to tell if this is caused by the additional UnityEngine.dll or something else (the issues with USI are probably not related anyway)

So yeah...for now, try to fix AT_Utils and check if it solves the issue with the window.

I've already reported the issue with AT_Utils/Ground Construction to allista:

When in doubt, delete all DLLs related to  AVC (and miniAVC). They’re both useless pains in the butt. They’re also basically spyware (which was a big controversy a few years ago).

This has nothing to do with AVC, it is a build-in compatibility check of these mods. All of them use this code: https://gist.github.com/Majiir/60b981d021485d37d44d

Beside of that, why the heck do you call AVC a spyware o_O AVC just compares the local .version file to the remote .version file on a server, usually the git repo of the mod, nothing else :o

I had just updated KSP to 1.7.1, so that broke Kopernicus.

Thank you for looking at my logs....I dont know how you are able to understand what is going on so well and I am a computer nerd.

And still get the error.

Ah, that’s educational, thank you. I thought that was an AVC screen.

AVC used to phone home with quite a bit more information. I just verified, and that was fixed. Still, I don’t need my mods hitting up a third party server every time I launch KSP. Software engineers need to be beaten with sticks until that kind of behavior is very clearly opt-in only.

Well, I'm used to read in logs of KSP ;)

Dang it....well, would you mind to upload a new log? Maybe, after fixing the other issues, something new stands out which slipped through the first time :)

Would have been nice it was AVC, that would be a lot easier to fix/bypass by using the compatibility override^^

Ah, didn't know that. I'm quite familiar with the code of AVC since I wrote the code for the compatibility override and the timer to check for updates in intervals instead on each game launch. Haven't seen anything suspicious there while working on it ;)

If you don't know yet, the latest version of AVC and miniAVC allows you to set an interval (in hours) when (mini)AVC should check for updates the next time (can be set to "never" as well). Yes, still not an "opt-in" but it's something :)

Hm...still quite a few exceptions but none of them seem to be related to your issue since they appear way too late for that. I'm out of ideas for now but I know me...this will bug me some more time so I'll come back to you later. Or maybe someone else steps by and got a solution :)

@traisjames Are your mods up to date? I would suggest CKAN, it's simpler that maintaining them by hand. You've got a couple failing to load. Your log shows Mechjeb 2.8.1 which is old. You should be using the Dev branch. It's the only branch kept anywhere close to current and had an update as recently as last night.

There is a Hullcamera.dll that does not load, my guess is it's not 1.7.1 compatible or yours is out of date. This prevents EVAFirstPerson.dll which I guess depends on Hullcamera to fail with a reflection error. Reflection errors can cause weird problems completely unrelated to the actual problem.

AssemblyLoader: Exception loading 'EVAFirstPerson': System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException: The classes in the module cannot be loaded.
  at (wrapper managed-to-native) System.Reflection.Assembly:GetTypes (bool)
  at System.Reflection.Assembly.GetTypes () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
  at AssemblyLoader.LoadAssemblies () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
Additional information about this exception:
System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'HullCamera, Version=1.0.5100.39113, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies.
File name: 'HullCamera, Version=1.0.5100.39113, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'

I use Station Science on 1.7.1, so it should be working, but it's failing to load for you. It's either out of date or a byproduct of the previous reflection problem.

AssemblyLoader: Exception loading 'StationScience': System.Reflection.ReflectionTypeLoadException: The classes in the module cannot be loaded.

  at AssemblyLoader.LoadAssemblies () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
