Parts won't place correctly

Recommended Posts

So I've been out of this for years, have periodically fired it up and never solved this issue. I add a command module, then go to add subsequent parts and everything will only attach upside down. I may have been gone too long and forgot how rockets work, but I can't even make it past step two of the tutorial because of this issue.

Same thing with fuel tanks, engines, etc; if I flip the command module end-over-end, then they'll attach right-side-up. I've tried deleting all of my old saves to no avail.

Has anyone ever seen this? It's kept me out of KSP for a few years and I'm finally getting around to trying to solve it.

I swear someone else had the a very similar problem within the last couple of months, and it was a relatively painless fix. I went back through this subforum and the Gameplay Questions subforum, and can't find the thread. If you don't manage to get an answer here, ask over there as well.

Since it's a persistent problem, verifying your install probably won't fix it.

Attaching your log file to your post will help diagnose. Instructions here:

I think this is due to an incompatible mod being installed. I also saw a post about this, and I think that was the cause.
