What to do with dres

Currently in ksp I’m attempting to create an empire across all the planets and moons.

 

Though I have been stuck on deciding what I should do with Dre’s. Originally my first idea  was to use it as a penal colony considering its somewhat cheap to access (especially one way) and that it wasn’t littered with remnants of bases/spacecrafts like my other planets. However I honestly think that perhaps eve would be a better candidate for a prison considering the difficulty a kerbal  would have attempting to escape it. 

Perhaps I could use it as a base for a mining colony in the Dre’s stroid belt similar to how Ceres , dres’s analogue , is used as a logistics hub in the expanse.  Though that seems like an incredibly difficult task to undertake.

 

So any suggestions

Dres was the industrial heart of my original save (sandbox, many many many many mods) until the kraken ate the game due to the tasty mod-flavourings.

You mean besides ignoring it?

Mining the Dresteroids might be a good use actually. Since they're already in orbit that cuts down on delta-V compared to surface mining, and their orbits are much more consistent than near-Kerbin asteroids. Though whether that's enough to compensate for inclination hassle I don't know.

I don't know why hating on Dres is such a thing these days.  Long ago, it was a popular destination because folks would try to jump the canyon in a souped-up rover

Dres-hating is an important part of keeping the masses away.

Every emperor needs an Imperial reserve and what better than the luxury and privacy of Dres's premium leisure facilities?
