GeneCash
I know KSP has always limited the number of samples and the amount of science (e.g. one crew report) but it's getting ridiculous. Why can't I pick up a meteorite AND some blueberries on Duna? Considering the size of the green sandstone they pick up on Minmus, it's certainly not the size of their pockets! Why can't I scan a sand dune and then some blueberries with the arms? Are they using a 8mb SD card to store the data? I really think the science limits need to be revised with the new stuff you can do in mind.
Geschosskopf
The arms work like the other experimental devices: when you run them, the data is inside the arms. So, like any other experiment part, you have to get the old data out of them (transmit or physically remove with a Kerbal or "collect all" with a Science Container) before you can use the arm again. I think, but am not certain, that Kerbal pockets work the same way---they can only hold 1 thing at a time, regardless of type. Kinda like EVA reports. Kerbals can't make another EVA report until they store the 1st one.
KerbMav
Geschosskopf has it right, yes.
