[Writing Question/Prompt] That one feeling...

...that you get after your first landing. For whatever reason, one-word adjectives like "euphoria" or "bewilderment" just don't seem to cut it for me, and so I wanted to hear from the rest of you.

How do you describe that feeling you get after your first landing?

Euphoria, bewilderment, a sense of accomplishment, that feeling that you get when you've failed every other time to do something and finally succeed.

That just about covers it for me.

It was my second attempt to land on Mun, back in 0.13. The first attempt had resulted in the crash of the lander and the deaths of everyone aboard. For the guys back on Kerbin, everything hinged on this pivotal mission. "Slowly this time, slowly..." Having taken a few minutes, the lander touched down on the surface of the Mun, it's R8 winglets acting as legs. They had done it.

I had done it. I had finally landed on the Mun.

As I recall, I yelled "YES!" (somewhat quietly), got up from my chair, the sense of achievement and excitement buzzing in my head, along with the RELIEF! Whew... what a relief it was.

A general rule I give myself is that if I do it without mods, I permit myself to do it with mods. Unless it requires mods or is just generally me messing around.

As for the feeling... Hmph, I will try my best.

A trememdous excitement surging through my bones, I was literally twitching with the relief of such an achievement. I even told my mum, and then I told her that my next goal is to land on the Mun AND MAKE IT BACK. Alas, it was beautifully overpowering.
