Low FPS in VAB but not in Game (Linux)

Recommended Posts

I've installed KSP in my, now main OS, Manjaro. With the vanilla game i had no problem, but after installing a couple mods, around 20, the frames in the VAB drop to around 3-5 per second. The problem is that in game, with a 120 plus parts the game runs absolutely smooth. Any suggestions?

What is your version of the game? What are the ´´20´´ mods that are you using? Your computer is AMD, Intel Or another one?

I'm using the latest version.

The "heavy" mods are all of the USI mods https://umbraspaceindustries.github.io/UmbraSpaceIndustries/ plus some qol mods and other science experiments

CPU:   Intel Core i7-2600
Graphics:  AM RX 570

I had no problems playing on windows, but i'm using only linux now

could you run terminal

inxi -Fxz

and paste terminal output? Mainly I am curious about the graphics section.

Although, regardless of whether you have default amdgpu or have added oibaf/graphics-drivers, I doubt the drivers are the issue. I suspect something from a mod is not rendering or loading right.

But, also keep in mind that Squad does not really test or support the Linux version. They simply publish it, then ignore 90% of the problems and complaints. I have seen some reports of success using the Windows version under wine compatibility layers of one flavor or another.

I have a RX470 and I haven't had issues in the VAB up to this point. I run just a few mods however, right now all I have is aviation lights and KER.
