Asteroid transfer window planner?

Well I need to capture a highly elliptic asteroid (class B) (apoapsis is almost at kerbin soi's and periapsis 1/4th moho's orbit). I wonder: how would I plan for this? - How much delta V would I need to reserve, how do I know when the next transfer window is?

 

Is there a tool to make a porkchop plot for such custom objects?

Astrogator (left image link in my forum signature) has a setting to include asteroids in its transfers list, which you can then use to generate maneuvers. You might try that, but I don't think I've tried it with such an extreme target orbit before. Good luck!

Mechjeb will happily make porkchop plots for any object that you can set as target, including asteroids.

Transfer Window Planner should be capable of it, *if* it allows to select any target (rather than just having the well-known bodies in a pull-down menu).

However, if the target orbit is odd, you may be better off by planning another approach. Leave Kerbin when Kerbin is near the asteroids' AP, for example, and go for an orbit that has approximately the same shape and position as the target orbit. Then treat it as rendezvous. Form what you describe, this will probably be much cheaper than any direct transfer.

(also, 1/4 Moho orbit? Phew. Doesn't it get rather hot down there?)
