KIS and 1.8.1 still not working

Kis and Kas have both been updated and files say they are compatible with 1.8.1.

However, no matter what I try, I can't drop anything into a container's inventory.   Wrench, Drill, etc.    Am I missing a setting?    Do I need to go into cheats to fix?

If someone could steer me, it would be great.    No point in researching a lot of higher end stuff unless I can use all the parts that go with it at this point....

There's a stock inventory (for surface deployed experiments and related stuff) and a KAS/KIS inventory (classic, from additional EVA, to fuel to parts), two different things... you're sure you didn't mix them up maybe?

Obvious question but are you dragging the items from the part list to the KIS inventory panel? KIS doesn't use the click to pick up/click to place that the rest of the editor does.

OMG.    Thank you.    Dragging for the win.    Now I feel really, really dumb.
