Jumping Eve Rover

Recommended Posts

Usually this is a problem with the springs in your wheel suspension. Do you have Advanced Tweakables Enabled in your Settings? If not, try turning it on and then go into the menu for your wheels. Change the suspension from Auto to Manual, and then reduce the Spring setting. You may also need to reduce the Damper setting at the same time.

Oh ok, the rover ended up bouncing so bad it blew up. Well I am going to try again tomorrow.

Errr, yes, that happens, too.

But @bewing is right: fiddling with the spring and damper setting is the way to go. (Although I would guess that you'll need higher spring settings.) At some settings it will be more unstable, but at other settings it should be reasonably stable. Figuring out which settings you need is a black art of KSP rover design.

Thank you! Adding that this also fixed the same issue with bouncy/exploding landing struts on an Eve base.
