Which Moon i go first?

Just started a new career game and I went to the Mun first because I still had a level 1 tracking station (so aiming at Minmus is much harder) and I only had the Stayputnik probe core (no SAS). If you're trying a caveman-type Mun landing using only level 1 buildings (or just haven't saved up to upgrade them yet) then the Mun is the better target.

You'd need really high-level parts to pull off a Mun landing within the limitations of a level 1 VAB and Launch Pad. At Terrier level, a no-return landing is the absolute best you can hope for.

Since I never orbit without unlocking the terrier first, I usually have a few hundred m/s of dV left in my first orbiter. Necessitating a Mün flyby. Because of similar dV requirements going to Minmus is the obvious choice. In science mode that is. In career you can easily do a Mün mission with terrier level tech provided you have unlocked the fuel line for more efficient ascents. The Mün is also the best choice of you use life support because you can have a lighter lander, a lighter lv, and a cheaper mission. So it really depends. If you are in career or use life support then the Mün is best. In science biome hopping and easier landings make Minmus superior.
