Save File unaccessable

I turned on my save file with a new battery on my laptop installed meaning I thought the computer wouldn't crash. Now I saw people with this problem before and sometimes that led to them abandoning the save or finding a technical way to solve it. This save file is very important and I have put a lot of effort into this. And loosing this file would be very unfortunate. Here is what the save file said.

Literally I will try anything to save this file. And unfortunately I haven't heard of anything that decorrupts something so if it's that's the case then I might have to cut my losses.

Okay I went into program files and found no problems with craft files or saves. And the backups look like they are not broken. Though I couldn't find the value.

But what happened to make my computer do this is that my computer suddenly shut down.

There is a backups directory in your KSP/saves/"yoursavename"/Backup directory. Hopefully one of those is good.

I forgot though how you make them your main save though

Oh! Just grab the one you like and copy it to one directory down, where your current persistent file is located. Do whatever to the not-working save, rename the backup to "persistent.sfs" and you should be good to go!

 

...You can also try loading one of your quicksaves too? Same process, but your current quicksave might still be working. I'm just checking now if they're loadable from in game somehow.

I can only find a way to load them in-game, which your current broken persistent prevents you from getting to. I thought there used to be a way, but guess I was mistaken.
