Can’t see Target marker and pressing F4

I am having trouble to activate the target marker in free space,

im pressing f4 but still is not coming up.

can any body who has had this problem write down the way of how they activated the target marker

From my experience sometimes i think the on/off gets confused and needs a reset.

So go in options and try changing the Settings -> Game play -> show vessel labels and then see if it works.
