I loaded the game from a save I started last night, which had a spaceplane and a Kethane Transfer Vehicle docked to it using the Warp Capable Docking Clamps.

The entire craft flew apart after a few seconds and hurled my command pod out heavens knows how far.

Surprisingly, the KTV survived, though on an escape trajectory. The spaceplane's fuselage remained intact but the wings broke away immediately after switching to it.
