Anth
In testing crafts which take time to develop to make sure they will function well I will 'teleport' them for testing in 'simulation mode' I might teleport them into orbit using 'set orbit' or teleport them using 'set position' (previous to that used the mission builder to create an instance in the place of testing) I have used F12 for aerodynamic analysing more times than I can count though this isn't exactly the debug menu I have used the AeroGUI that is accessed in the debug menu I have used F11 for getting the the Temperature Overlay to display for Eve entry testing All of these tools really help in saving time in creating crafts and making them function well. Anyone on the KSP2 team allowed to say? Oh...right one more thing. the Debug Menu is invaluable for the bug reports that I do.
Guest
Apart from debugging and bug reports, they mentioned something during the podcast interview about being able to simulate things before committing to build launch them in a new "sandbox simulation" or something similar. Now I don't remember all the details and they were specifically talking about the construction of the big interstellar ships and their design constrains and balance.
