Why can't ı dock?

Recommended Posts

Recently ı learned how to dock and ı did it many times. But when ı tried to build a space station , after ı dock a module ı cant dock the second module as you see in the photo. Two modules are exactly same and all docking ports's same faces looking out. Then what is the problem?

If a docking attempt fails sometimes you need to move back a bit and get some distance and then attempt again or else it won't dock, just go back 50-100 meters to reset and you should be fine.

Btw small extra tip, your top docking port has Z-Fighting issues, do you see how it blends weird with your craft, in editor if you move the docking just a tiny bit up and separate it just enough you wont have that z-fighting effect.

Are you sure? On the two docked ports on the left in the foreground the black and yellow stripes on the two docking ports from a fishbone pattern. But if I see it correctly, then the stripes on the part that you are trying to dock are going in the same direction as the stripes on the port of the station.

Otherwise at this distance, speed, and orientation the magnetic force of the docking ports should pull the craft together, even with SAS fighting the it. (Btw. it is usually a good idea to switch off SAS as soon as - or just before - the magnetic force starts to work.)

If the same faces were looking out, then the two handles in the picture would be right next to each other. They aren't.
