astronaut training

Playing RO/RP-1.  the only astronaut training courses available are X-1 and general aviation.  how can I unlock other training so I can start crewed space missions?

perhaps your best  bet would be to go back to the stock solar system and play the tutorial missions that come with the game.   You can always reinstall RO/RP-1 later, as the basic concepts are still the same.

You need to have the space-ready capsules/cockpits unlocked.

Not strictly true- you need to have the parts on the research queue to start proficiency training for it, but the parts must be unlocked before you can do mission training. It’s a very good idea to start proficiency training as soon as the nodes are on your research queue- proficiency needs done once and lasts for life, but takes a long time especially for later stuff like Apollo so get it done as early as possible so that you can start mission training as soon as the parts are unlocked; mission training is a lot shorter but needs done before each mission, and gets used up after you launch- even if you abort the launch a few seconds in as I once had to due to an engine failure…
