Game load stuck on "Expansion loading complete!" for longer than it takes to get there, or outright crashing there.

Recommended Posts

KSP: Latest version, 64 bit.

Problem: The game loads fine, but once it gets to "Expansion loading complete!" and the loading bar is full, it stays there for over ten minutes, which is much longer than the 4 minutes or so it takes to load to there, if it doesn't outright crash.

If it doesn't crash, the screen starts flickering, as if it were rapidly alt-tabbing, before the main menu loads like normal.

This is the player.log file.

This TXT file has all the mods and their versions.

How can I solve this issue? Thank you.

The logs look incomplete to me, ending abruptly without actually finishing the loading process. Can you reboot the game, let it reach the menu and then get the logs from that? Also try watching your CPU/RAM usage after it reaches “loading complete” as there may be a hardware bottleneck slowing it down.

Are all your mods listed as being 1.12 compatible?

The only ones I didn't get via CKAN were Galileo's Planet Pack and Kopernicus, but I asked in GPP's thread and it is compatible with the latest KSP. I'm assuming CKAN only lets me download compatible mods.

Memory usage approaches 97% as it starts to load, and stays there throughout, with KSP using around 2.7GB. It drops to 1.5GB once it reaches the expansion loading, and memory usage stays at more or less 80%.

The main menu was reached around half an hour in. GPP did load properly. This is the log file.

  • 1 year later...

KSP version: 1.12.5.3190 (Win x64)

I had a problem with a game loading screen stopping at the end. The log said  "

[WRN xx:xx:xx.xxx] ShaderProgram is unsupported, but because jobified rendering is enabled the ShaderProgram can not be removed.

" X were numbers but it's not important.

I also found a solution to this problem. In my case the problem was caused by texture quality settings. If you have the same problem you should open settings.cfg file in C:\Program Files\Epic Games\KerbalSpaceProgram\English (for those, who got the game from EG) and there you should find the lines about quality and lower the values to 1. Here are the lines that I changed:

TEXTURE_QUALITY = 0
SYNC_VBL = 0
LIGHT_QUALITY = 1
SHADOWS_QUALITY = 1

The lines shown above are written one after another in the settings file. The only line that I left untouched was SYNC_VBL.
