Relay Network... doesn't like connecting, I guess.

So, my experiment station is on the far side of the Mün. A solution is usually "Hey, let's connect using a relay. Easy peasy, right?"'

Nope.

These guys have pretty good relays, GREAT connection all around-- just not to each other. Yes, I've looked at other threads, like https://steamcommunity.com/app/220200/discussions/0/135510669598463932/,  

 

, and other things. There a setting or something?

Maybe my mods are a bit of an issue? Info (though none of my mods really do relay stuff, I... I think):

What antennas do they have? I'm pretty sure the parabolic dish I see there isn't a relay antenna.

There's a difference between antennas and relay antennas.

Whoops.

 

Conclusion for future humans: Check if your antennae are RELAY antennas. It should have it in the name.

more specifically, it will have it in the modules. ModuleDataTransmitter can have its antennaType as DIRECT or RELAY

The following are relay dishes: HG-5 (puny), HG-20 (Making History DLC  exclusive), RA-2, RA-15, RA-100. If you want a signal to be relayed, you need at least one of those. Also remember that relay signal strength is calculated differently than total signal strength, so sticking an HG-5 (rating 5M) on with a Communotron 88-88 direct antenna (rating 100G) doesn’t give you 100G of relay capability- it’s still only 5M.

The / a HG-20 is not part of Making History. I only found that name referenced is combination with the mod "Restock+"
