Mapper photos?

Does anyone have a collection of maps from all the objects in the Kerbal Solar System? If you flag them with spoilers, it'd be cool to get anomaly points of interest marked as well. I'm planning a rover trip to each planet for extended exploration and wanted some specific sites to check out.

If you download the ISA MapSat mod, you can send out mapping probes to discover those things for yourself. Be sure to include the MapSat dish on your landers and rovers, too, even after the planet is fully mapped, so you can examine the map during their missions.

I have already mapped ALL the things, so you don't have to.

How high of resolution are the maps?

Not real high, but they show markings for anomalies and other points of interest, and you can get LAT/LONs for plugging into MechJeb or other stuff. They've also been good enough to let me drive rovers to find a few odd things they detected.

So, I just started mapping Kerbin and I noticed I'm only seeing

A couple of the anomalies near KSC. Have the others been removed?

Can anyone else confirm?

Edit: I got them all now. You have to fly basically RIGHT over them.

I've only just started using the ISA Map Sat and found that once you get the in game map at default resolution done, there are still large gaps if you render the map separately with the external processor, at a high pixel width like 3200. My "complete" map of Kerbin became a patchwork of stripes and spotty areas and gaps at the poles. Mostly because I mapped at 50x warp probably. Need to just let it run at 1x and see how it goes. Hope my 71km orbit is a decent one.

  • 2 weeks later...

ISA MapSat and MechJeb are in my "mandatory" mods collection; even my "vanilla" copy of KSP has them installed, because they're just so damned useful--ISA's useful, if nothing else, for looking like a high-gain antenna and/or a landing radar, once you're done mapping...
