how to equip screwdrivers in VAB

I'm scouring the internet for how to equip the blasted screwdriver so I can use pylons for my Minmus base and haven't had any luck and im trying everything i can think of

For KIS/KAS? open the inventory for the kerbal in question's seat or a cargo part's inv in the VAB, then hold click and drag the screwdriver from the part try into the inv slot. If you place it into the seat's inventory, it'll be in the kerbal's inv when they EVA, then you equip it by pressing 1-8, whatever corresponds to the inv slot the tool is in.
