Hello everyone! I discovered the game last week after a colleague showed it to me, and I fell in love with it! It's simply amazing, and it manages to make orbital mechanics look really cool!

I'm a Ph.D. student in astrophysics, so maybe I am biased a little. However, I can tell you this little game made the last few days much more bearable than they would have been otherwise! You see, I'm currently in Hawaii to do some observations for my thesis, but the weather has been absolutely horrible. Instead of rolling my thumbs, I used those long hours to send Kerbals to Mun instead! And I can't wait to explore the rest of the system!

This fall, I'm one of the teaching assistant for the Classical Mechanics class at my university. I'm seriously considering giving them the challenge to get to the moon an back with the demo. That way they'll get a much more intuitive grasp of the notions we're trying to teach them! :)

My thanks to the makers of this little gem, I hope you will have much success with it!

Welcome to the forums, Kulzar!

That does sound like a very good idea, KSP is an excellent (and fun) teaching tool for the basics, or even sometimes the intricacies, of orbital mechanics.

Hope you enjoy your stay at the forums. :)

Welcome to the forums Kulzar.

You have a PHD in astrophysics (that's what I'm hoping to get, I want to study astrophysics badly as both space, science and maths are some of my favourite subjects).

Good luck with your observations, hope you find something you wanted and make sure to let your class play KSP (they will love it, it's amazing).

Have fun playing KSP and glow blow up some rockets! :sticktongue:

Hi Kulzar, welcome to the community :)

I think using the demo as a teaching tool is a great idea, I remember first playing KSP, and realizing how objects in space really move compared to what we know here on Earth or learn from TV, it was an eye opening moment.
