saphera12
This is the first major game breaking issues I've run across. If i time warp in low altitude around the Mun or Min the craft goes into a completely uncontrollable spin when I exit warp. To the extent that the ship flies apart and the orbit is drastically changed. This happens with multiple ships. The one savings grace was that if i only did short warps it would give it less spin and i was able to reorient and then do another short warp. But if i Warp through say a quarter of an orbit to begin a decent burn the ships would be lost. Together we shall slay the kraken!!!
James Kerman
Hi @saphera12, your problem has been moved from KSP 2 Suggestions and development to KSP 2 Bug Reports.
Razor235
I've got a theory this is related to the orbital decay reported in low orbits, especially at Mun and Minmus.
Silvia Dragoness
This happened when I was trying to rendezvous my lander with my orbiter after my Mun landing. I was controlling the lander, timewarping in steps during the rendezvous process, and when I finally got close to the orbiter, it was spinning like mad with parts stretching away from each other. I switched to controlling the orbiter and used a super brief timewarp to kill its rotation, and was left with this (spoiler'd so it can be collapsed to save space): Spoiler The game thinks all these parts are still connected to each other. SaphireFalcon
I have encountered similar problems: When timewarping When loading save created an orbit just fine. It seem the vehicle gets "hit" by the Kraken. Depending the time warp speed, it is only a gentle slap making the vehicle spin, or something more destructive leaving you with debris. Edit: my vessel survived the Kraken, but it is not just moving through the Mun surface as if it wasn't there Edited February 26, 2023 by SaphireFalcon
TImjfjdd
To add to this, sometimes besides spinning the craft out of control, it also changes your velocity. Ive had it happen where i exit timewarp or unpause while in orbit of the mun, and then suddenly im on a crash course for the ground
SaphireFalcon
So I have been trying a few things over the past week. What I found out is that in the save file in the vessel section, Location -> LocationType is "SurfaceCoordinates" while the ship was just in orbit. If you correct this to "Orbit" then it works again and one can land on the planet. So far tested this on the Mun and Minmus.
