Performance Validation

I'm really trying to understand how my performance lag compares to others. This seems really bad to me but I don't see anyone posting about this with my type of hardware. I took a video and this is exactly how laggy I get when I crash a ship or plane.  Is there something really wrong with my system or is this what others experience as well? You only need to watch for 1 minute to see the crash.

Intel i7-9700K @ 3.6GHz, 3600 MHz, 8 core 32 GB RAM Nvidia RTX 3080 Samsung SSD 850 EVO 1TB

I got curious, so I loaded a big rocket and deliberately crashed it after launch (I meant to do that, I swear!), and I got the same basic results as you did. Everything was great until it hit the ground, and then LAG as my Rapid Planned Disassembly took over the game. It wasn't as bad as yours, but I'm running a 5900X  | 32GB RAM @ 3600 | 3090Ti GPU which is a little more power.

I had Task Mangler and HWiNFO running at the same time, and didn't really see my CPU cores spike more than they were already (not that I could tell, anyway, but only 4 out of 12 were working hard). I forgot to watch the GPU, though. :P

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say that we're both hitting a phase where the game needs to calculate everything about the ships and all of the bits and bobs going through explosion simulations, which it doesn't need to do while you're flying. The way the game is written/optimized right now, it's probably just something we'll need to wait for a fix on.

You might try testing out something smaller (build / launch / crash) and see what your results are. I'm sure that the fewer parts you build with, the less it will lag, but of course I could be wrong.

Doesn't help, but it's an explanation...

Thank you for taking the time to do that for me. I feel better knowing that the same experience occurs with other folks. I looked at GPU performance and I didn't see any real spikes during that time. I do think the number of components makes a big difference in how long the lag is during the crash.
