Scarecrow71 Posted March 10, 2023 Share Posted March 10, 2023 As part of the Duna Mastery Challenge, I put a rover on Duna today. The rover had to land successfully, and be drivable, both of which happened. To get to the surface, I packed 1 MK-16 and 4 Radial Drogue Chutes. And when I fired them during descent...see the image. So, where are my chutes? They simply aren't there. I'm only 6800 meters above the surface, and I'm traveling at 118 m/s, which is not fast enough to shear them off. Also, I thought there were no atmospheric effects in the game yet, so they shouldn't have even been torn off by that anyhow. And yet, I have no chutes. And there are 2 more really interesting things with the chutes here: I was able to repack them. That's right - no Engineer/Kerbal anywhere near the thing, and yet I could repack the chutes. In flight, on the ground...anywhere I wanted, I could repack them. Not that it did any good; repacking and refiring only gave me no chutes again. Take a look at the staging on the right side. What is up with the long black bar for the chutes there? And this bar doesn't go away; it stays there on this craft no matter what I do with it, and it shows up empty on any other craft I'm working on until I go into the VAB and then load and delete a craft. One last thing, which may or may not be my fault, is that the brakes don't work. Hitting B? Nothing. Adding Activate/Deactivate brakes on all 4 wheels to an action group? Nothing. Mashing the keyboard? Nope, this thing rolls of its own free will once you get it moving. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
