Adjustable Grid Size and/or Moveable 'Rulers' in VAB 'Flat' views

Recommended Posts

The gridded CAD style flat views in VAB are a great feature and very handy.

However visualising and setting vertical and horizontal alignments would be much easier if we were able to adjust the grid size, or have a fainter smaller grid in addition, so that the lines would be closer to the bits we want to check.

What may be more useful though are horizontal and vertical 'Rulers' that can be dragged to exactly where we want them (such as directly over undercarriage legs).

Perhaps even a protractor too to assist with angled  placements.

Agreed; it would be very handy to be able to do this, i.e. drag the grid vertically and horizontally to align it with a specific part of a craft, also perhaps to allow a "zoom" function for the grid so that two parallel lines could be aligned with different parts of the craft.

Also, it would be very handy to be able to pan across the craft while in the "CAD" view (or is this already a thing and I'm just missing how to do it?).

EDIT: Panning while in 2D view is already a thing!
