The Raven MK I

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, today I present to you a new innovation in the field of unsafe and sudden deceleration!

The Raven MK I is an orbit capable aircraft with a crew capacity of 1. It is completely stock (mechjeb has been removed in the .craft file provided, though is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) and can achieve orbits of up to 100km and return safely (safety not guaranteed).

At this point Fraps (which i had been using to take screenshots) and the aircraft both crashed :P.

(Mechjeb HIGHLY recommended) The Raven MK I often does not get along well with manual control. It likes to float and wobble all around while in atmosphere, making landings extremely difficult. Having mechjeb on board decreases (but does not eliminate) these wobbles.

While in space, the two rocket engines like to tilt the nose of the craft upwards if throttled too high. I found the best way to deal with this was to set mechjeb to prograde and keep the throttle to ~30%.

When re-entering, it is best to re-activate the jet engines when you begin to lose control. They will help you keep from flipping it over.

The Raven MK II

For those of you who prefer a craft that you can fly without flipping end over end, I present to you the Raven MK II.

The Raven MK II is a smaller, more stable, and easier to handle version of the Raven MK I. Unfortunately this also means it is unable to achieve orbit without the assistance of added stages. Regardless, the Raven MK II can achieve attitudes of ~20km on it's jet engines, and an altitude of ~50km with the use of it's single rocket engine. Below are pictures of an attempted sub-orbital jump with the Raven MK II (mechjeb not included in the attached .craft file).

The Raven MK II is a much more stable and maneuverable craft than the Raven MK I. It has a tighter turning radius, faster acceleration, and a better lift-to-weight ratio. Chances of flipping are slim to none, but Mechjeb is still recommended for extended flights as the craft has a tendency to pitch down.
