Some issues FL R1 RCS solid fuel tank

Hey Spacemen,

yesterday I stumled uppon KSP and instantly bought it. I just love space and rockets and just anything that flies.

I was messing around with some parts and wanted to build some of these FL-R1 RCSs on my rocket. The first ones I tryed collapsed before the launch. I figured the tanks could not support the weight of the later stages of the rockets (am I right here?) So I built a test rocket with just the capsule, one tank and a RT10 solid fuel booster. The rocket launched, but the booster didn't use the fuel of the tank. I tryed several different layouts or connecting the tank to the booster with an external fuel duct (I know this is meant only for liquid fuel) but nothing worked. How can I use the fuel out of the tank and how can I build more tanks in a rocket without them to collapse?

Thank you for the help!

Hi Speckknoedel, welcome to the community :)

Ahh well we all get confused at the start, you'll need RCS thrusters as well as RCS fuel, and hit R to turn it on, lets see what else, ahh yeah, SRB's just burn out as you have found, and you can stabilize your craft with the T key.

You might find Shift useful in the VAB for a lot of things including when rotating parts with WASD QE, and if you mess up you can press Alt+Z

If you have any specific questions just ask here or in How-To :)

Hello there mighty good one!

I hope you have a splended time launching.

Also, check out www.kerbal.net and find some good mods! I recomend the protractor mod to get to other planets!

Also, boosters run on their own fuel, and non stop, Of course you have figured that out already though :)

Also, Sal, its CTRL Z on windows, not alt :)

and dont forget shift+ qweasd to fine tune! And caps lock for precison controls in flight (useful for planes)

Anyhow, you are doing good, and i wish you well.

Happy exploding!

-TD.
