Go find a solar panel that actually works using the latest version of Kreuzung's electrical energy plugin. open the cfg file. copy the Module block at the bottom (the line starting with module, and including the block of code contained in curly brakets below it) paste this module into the bottom of the cfg file of the panel you wish to change. alter the electrical energy gain to something balanced and appropriate.

Ion engines aren't very realistic anyways.

Apparently realistic isn't fun for some people though.

It being hard is why it's fun for me.

IMHO, at least to me.. Mechjeb autopilot + fuel hacks + cheater parts, etc is pretty much the equivalent to playing a FPS using an aimbot that always gives you headshots and all you have to do is click.

I mean, seriously. I just don't get how people can find it fun for longer than 10 minutes.

I personally only use two mods.. protractor and kerbal engineer redux... and all those do is replace an actual protractor and a spreadsheet.

People like different things Qumefox, some like a first person shooter, others like a micromanagement game, others like to flick birds at pigs.

That's whats great about KSP, we can choose to use add-ons or not, and do so many different things, I have not seen an angry birds add-on yet though.
